Today's walk was a bit further afield than London.
Instead my I made a stroll from the Köln HBf towards Friesenstrasse where I am staying.
It's been a few years since I was here and this German city is undergoing rapid redevelopment.
One thing that doesn't change however is the towering presence of the Dom (cathedral ) which is intrinsically linked to the identity of the city itself.

I remember seeing that Catherdral it is very powerful and kind of dark in some ways but still so beautiful

It's often tinged in dark stone but despite its gothic appearance the city is full of light and fun. The work is to restore it's natural stone colour back.

I am not sure I went inside it when I was there and it was a dark cloudy day so that may have affected both my mood the look of it, gad to hear they are restoring it

It looks like they're taking care of it, anyway. How long have they been working on the facade, I wonder? I don't think I would trust that scaffolding, especially the one hanging off the right side. That looks precarious!
