Wednesday Walk - Look what I found!

in wednesdaywalk •  6 years ago

This is my #wednesdaywalk post, a great challenge initiated by @tattoodjay. Open to anyone, check the rules here: Wednesday Walk Challenge Rules

I found this beautiful mural just two blocks away from my house. I couldn't believe I passed by it so many times without noticing, so I asked around and they said there was a camouflage type of wall covering it, more like an awning.

It was hard to take a full picture of it, as it stretches for a good 50 yards, and there were many cars parked on that side of the street, so I had to photograph both ends separately.

Here is my attempt to capture all painting in one photo:

Here is the left end:

Here is the right end:

It is called "Mother's Eternal Love". The details are amazing and the whole composition is remarkable. The mother is sending light and peace (doves) to her child.

4.jpg

The child's face is adorable, his eyes are so alive!

5.jpg

But what I like the most on this painting, is the adoration on mother's face. I think that the artist captured her feeling amazingly.

In the right hand corner there is some text, hope it came out clear in the picture, as the wall was a little dirty.

The artist is very talented and I hope this mural will be here for many years to come, to remind us that a mother's love is eternal.

and thanks for joining Wednesday walk tip!

I told you I found something special this time. I asked around who was Sammy, this mural is dedicated to him. He was a beloved citizen of Jersey City, he died in a motorcycle accident, he was in his 40’s and he lived around here.

yes indeed that is so special and a beautiful memorial to Sammy

Thanks for your awesome photos! 😎

You’re welcome and thank you for the nice comment.

Great #wednesdaywalk @starjewel Beautiful mural. And great photos. I've been there trying to get a long mural into one shot :) I love the beauty that murals can bring to a neighborhood.

Me too. You can get good shots if you are on higher altitude, in my case I needed to go on the roof 😂🤣

Most mothers will be able to come to term to those beautiful paintings on the wall. It must have been a wonderful Wednesday walk. :) Thank you for sharing it with us with so many photos.

I was so surprised to see this mural. As I wrote in the article, it was hidden under an awning. 😊

Glad you found out and even shared it here so we could admire it too. 💓

Thank you @zoorank I appreciate your comment 😉

@starjewel, wow I loved the color combinations of the painting wonderful piece of art.

Oh yeah, it brings so much life to that dull block!

Yahoo! I love seeing murals from other parts of the world!

Me too. I never paid attention to them, until I saw a post by @lynncoyle1 and then I saw one mural in my neighborhood, then another one... now I am looking for them. 😊

What a great WednesdayWalk! I love the contest and the variation of entries just blows me away.

This is really good. It's amazing what's around when you look.

Thanks for a wonderful walk and share.

I love it too! I enjoy reading all entries. @tattoodjay did a great job initiating this challenge 😊

Murals are hidden treasures in the city! This one is particulary beautiful, full of color and with some meaning. Great finding!

Thank you so much 😊I feel like an art detective, looking for these murals, it is so much fun!

they painted it really well, they are amazing artist without gallery @starjewel. #steemitbloggers

Yes, they are amazing artist. They don’t have a regular gallery, but if you think about, they have a better audience than any gallery. Imagine how many people pass by every day and admire this piece of art. It’s a free gallery, open 24/7 every day, for many years to come. Cool 😎

There’s a haunting quality to the way the child is looking out towards its mother, and the purple - with the black birds. i get a very curious feeling from this piece, but man is it cool!

I felt the adoration the mother has for the child. There is some pain on her face also. And the child has a strange look, like he doesn’t want to be separated from his mom. This is what probably the artist wanted, as this mural was dedicated to a man who died prematurely in an accident. Maybe the artist wanted to express a mother’s pain when her child passes away.

Wow this is an amazing piece of art! I cant imagine how many hours it takes to create something this large.

Neither do I. I never saw this type of work in progress.

That's really special! Amazing how much detail and I love the clarity of it all. Ha, remember when in the old days graffiti used to mean that it was made ugly? now look at it! :)

Yes, that’s right. There is still ugly gravity out there, and I am very upset when I see it. But some murals are really beautiful. Especially this one

I love the colors on that mural! What a great find. Funny what you notice when you take the time - I'll have to try it myself :)

Tell me about it 😉 Now I pay more attention to my surroundings. And guess what? I see murals all over the place 😂🤣😂

What a great mural! Amazing composition, I love the red flower in the hair the Eternal Mother so much. Is it a poinsettia flower?

What a joy to read your post!

It looks like a poinsettia to me. It is a great composition, I agree. Very well put together and structured. I think it’s not easy, when it comes to such a large size.

I agree 100% ... this is for sure not easy to set up. Must have been several different parts and step by step I think.

I love it! Its an awesome mural. I am glad its there.
Resteeemed this too

I am very glad I noticed it and I decided to share here on Steemit. So many people commented, how nice!

True that. I saw another one and can’t wait to share it soon!

Very nice mural and great photos. It would be nice to see more murals like this instead of the usual concrete and cars.

Proud member of #steemitbloggers @steemitbloggers
