Let's take a walk through high school for #wednesdaywalk

Welcome to my #wednesdaywalk. I was busy all day yesterday so I didn't get to do the walk I wanted,
but I did have to walk down to the high school with my son for parent/teacher conferences.

So come along and visit high school with me again. 😭

We live in a smaller town than I grew up in so the high school is much smaller than the one I went to. I think there are about 200 kids per class so about 800 total go to this school.

It's a lovely night out but for some reason as we got closer to the school I got that uneasy feeling of....going to school!

Well, here we are, senior hall. All the teachers are in their rooms and the familys just que up outside the door and wait their turn. They also want the kid to attend too which is different than when I went to school.

Oh, by the way, this is an older building and they use steam radiators for heat so it's about 400° in here right now.

OK, we are finally waiting out front at the last class. This took way longer than I thought it would but the boy is doing well and that's all that really matters.

FREEDOM!!

A cool walk around the school, I think the school I went to had about 100 Per class level so was even smaller

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)

Yeah, I was going to say the school was tiny but that's just compaired to my high school which had about 500 per class! I can't even imagine a class of only 100! I like #wednesdaywalk, gonna try to post more of these.

Its all what we were used to I grew up in a small town :)

Glad to have you joining Wednesday Walk :)

Haha, that's alright, I'll take a Wednesday walk on Thursday.

I get that feeling every now and then too... that I am going back to school. Wait a minute... I thought you homeschool your kids?

I do @plaid, but at high school age they get the power of the choice. So I am down to two kids at home...

The Choice... haha! You make it sound like it's some kind of homeschool ritual-rite of passage... which I suppose it kind of is in a way! :)

Now that I think about it, I do remember new kids in high school that were previously home schooled. They must have made the choice then.

Were you pleased that your son chose public school?

This may sound like a cheesy non-answer but I am glad he had the opportunity to make a choice like this. I am not a fan of the US school system (love the teachers though) and I let him know he can come back to home school at any time but I am happy for him as he seems to be enjoying it.

That's cool man... and I totally get what you mean about the system vs the teachers.

Glad the boy is doing well in the transition to not home school. 😃 🎉

We had those old radiators in my school too. My leg brushed against one my freshman year. YIKES!!! Bubbling burnt off skin. As you imagine mother and father finney went straight to the principal’s office to express their displeasure.🤣😂

Yep, I am glad too.I really could not believe how hot it was in there. FA-HOCK!

Thanks for taking us this walk through the school. It is great to know that your boy is doing well!👌.. you are a great father, @summertooth, and you dote on your kids, like parents should. I don’t remember my Dad going to my HS, except when I graduated. I guess it was because on my freshman year, one of my brothers was in senior year, and was always watching over me.
