Wednesday Walk- Autumn Colors

in wednesdaywalk •  5 years ago

There have been several weeks of cold, frigid weather and then just like magic we had a beautiful, sunny day and it was 60 degrees. So I did what this squirrel did. I seized the day. Carpe diem!

But instead of eating and collecting acorns for the winter, I collected the beautiful colors of autumn in photos taken at the park, stored them away for a couple of weeks and brought them out today for @tattoodjay's Wednesday Walk.

You know about holly bushes but did you know that there are holly trees like this one? Some can grow to be 50 feet high and this one was every bit of that.

People can't eat these berries but the birds love them.

Looking through the weeping willow tree branches, there was a hint of color across the pond.

Look at this swan checking me out.

It must stay warm down there.

I think this is the American Sycamore tree. Isn't that trunk a beauty?

I loved how this tree was reaching out and hanging over the water.

A beautiful mix of autumn colors in these leaves.

I bid the park adieu until next spring.

The parking lot looked more like winter.

The leaves were gone except for the ones that were used to help make this large birds nest.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay warm!

All photos are my own.

What a cool walk with such beautiful shots of nature ;)

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)

Thank you! I am glad you like it. I hibernate in cold weather so I am going to miss walking in this park. Have a great weekend @tattoodjay! : )

I never used ot et the winter cold bother me too much, but the last few years I am feeling the cold more so I know I will be hibernating now and again for the most part this winter as well

It is hell when you get old! LOL!

Ohhyeah, and I think the blood thinners I am on make me feel it even more

Nice shots @whatisnew that's a great little park as well.
I'm with you bud, I tend to slow down in the winter these days as well. Getting old and the cold among other things bothers me more and more.
"Getting old isn't for wussies" lol ( quote from my Grandfather )

Thanks bud! Oh, no...you too? I also have the "other things". I adore the quote from your Grandfather. LOL!

LOL Yeah Grandpa was full of witty wisdom like that. Some of the quotes I didn't understand but Grandpa would just chuckle and say don't worry you will one day. Wish I could sit down and have an adult conversation with that man..... so much I'd love to talk with him about. He may be one of my favorite people ever despite the fact he took great delight in teasing me. Mom often laughs and comments that I'm turning into my Grandfather lol

That is good that you have fond memories of your Grandpa. What a nice compliment your Mom gave to you, unless of course it concerns teasing. LOL!

Lovely photos. I especially loved that holly tree. I did not know they could get so big.

And I suspect your nest is a squirrel's nest, it looks like a typical one.

Thanks! I love that tree too. : )

What fantastic photos from your walk. Great that you took advantage of that nice sunny day! Winter would be bearable if we could get a day like that after a cold stretch! My trees are full of squirrel nests, too.

Congrats on the blocktrades vote!

Thanks Melinda! Yes, I could tolerate winter like that but I think that is just wishful thinking for both of us. LOL!

Thank you! I was shocked with that blocktrades vote and very grateful. I just wish I knew how to thank them.

I think if you go to @blocktrades and make a comment on the latest post he will see it.

Thanks for your Melinda! I just did it.

Very cute

Thank you and thanks for stopping by! : )

wow, what a great selection of photos Butterfly! It was 76 today and it's supposed to get to 80 tomorrow but I won't mention that because I know how sensitive you get about the weather topic.

76 and 80?!?! I am soooooo jealous! But I am happy for you. Did you hear that many will be having snow on Thanksgiving? Hopefully we will just have rain. You will probably be be outside on the lounge chair in shorts, soaking up the rays.

lol...I just asked about your weather forecast in another comment. Well, rain isn't bad, at least compared to snow. What are your Thanksgiving plans?

Superb autumn colors and great photo work ... love them all 👍

Glad you loved these photos @hangin! You are too kind. : )
