This One Thing Could Get Trump Reelected

in weed •  6 years ago

The first thing I want to say is that I didn't vote for Trump or Hillary in the 2016 presidential election.

That being said the only thing he has to do to get reelected is to legalize pot on the Federal level and release all prisoners who are in for pot related "crimes."

It's that easy. The reason is the majority of people think the war on drugs and especially pot is absurd.

Our friends up in Canada just legalized it across all of Canada and it will come into effect in October. You can read @karenmckersie 's blog post about it. She lives in Canada so they are all celebrating up there and the world is nodding their heads YES! Mexico and the United States need to follow suit.

I'm not even a pot smoker but to criminalize it like that has put the power in the hands of "criminals" and has cost the American tax payers unbelievable amounts of money supporting law enforcement campaigns to "bust" people involved in the pot industry.

The Reason People Will Reelect Trump

At the end of the day even with people not liking Trump and the things he says they will give him a pass if he does that one thing. People will just consider him to be a man baby who wants attention when he says anything else off the wall and people will be glad the Prohibition is over!

States like Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska .....etc didn't just fall apart. They are doing just fine. The only thing that is needed is the equipment to make sure someone isn't driving when they are high AF.

So now it is legal for recreational use in Canada while China still has the death penalty in place for having weed. WOW!!!! https://www.tokeofthetown.com/2014/09/aussies_caught_with_pot_face_death_penalty_in_chin.php/

Do you agree with me that he will get reelected if he legalizes weed?

The thing that blows me away about weed laws is how out of sync it is with the general public. A good percentage of people use pot, and those who don't a good majority of them don't really see a need for it to be illegal.

Overall it's a huge waste of money and resources locking up non-violent marijuana offenders. We often hear about molesters and really bad people getting probation or 1 year in jail because jails are overcrowded. Let's lockup the people who actually pose a danger to society.

Another funny thing is how out of sync the laws are to the point nobody respects them so what's the point of having them? Tons of people openly smoke pot on social media, I was at a street fest in Chciago the other week called DoDivision and people were rolling joints right out on the sidewalk. A few weeks back we were at a bar in Wicker Park and I walked outside and 2 guys were actually leaning up on the hood of a parked Chicago Police SUV smoking a joint. Nobody respects the law so we may as well do away with it, tax it and regulate it like any other product and it will solve a ton of money issues for cities, states and the federal government as a whole not only on the tax revenue it raises but on all the money it saves the governmetn.

That said drug testing and rehab is a huge business. When I got arrested for pot in college they court ordered me to go to a rehab and my PO made me go to some NA meetings. I was living in a county in Central Illinois which is one of the biggest meth counties in the state so here I am in there for getting caught with some weed, I have no drug problem, I'm not addicted to anything adn I'm forced to pay money and sit in on meetings with people who have serious addictions and drug problems that were destroying their lives. Even the counselors were just kinda like just kinda sit here and bide your time, they realized I didn't need to be there but had to.

Its also funny when the government provides stats like 40% of people in rehab are there for marijuana, yeah no shit, not because they have problems but because they got caught smoking a joint and you court ordered them to go

Yeah it is weird to me that people can show themselves with weed in videos and social media but then if you get caught with a small amount of it you are in trouble.

That is insane they had you go to drug rehab and then everyone else is a meth zombie with no teeth.

Oddly enough here in Arizona it didn't quite pass to be recreational here this last time around because there are so many old people who are residents here and they were probably fed this whole narrative that pot was fucking people up and ruining lives....etc.

I mean when you have people like me that don't even smoke pot wanting it to be legal to stop the injustice and the over spending bullshit it is pretty clear what needs to be done.

@brianphobos 3 hours and nobody commented on this post. I am First after 3 hours. Amazing I don't smoke POT now but I am all for decriminalizing it. In fact put me in the camp of making everything legal.

Yeah I'm the same way. It is insane how many people are addicted to prescription medications and often times those are more harmful for people than pot.
