That's me standing by my old friend Mary Jane. This photo was taken of me a few days ago in the city of Portland at a friends house.
It's been really cool to see the legalization and commercialization of marijuana in the Pacific Northwest first hand. I don't live here but I visit here often.
I stopped smoking weed about a year ago now and I'm glad I did. Not that I have a problem with the plant, I'm definitely not against it and wish more people would actually smoke it, especially my own family :)
However, after 10 years of daily use at one point I just stopped and honestly I don't think I'll ever smoke again.
I personally enjoyed smoking weed and it definitely had it's pluses and minuses. The pluses were enhanced creativity, stress relief, good times and many laughs with my stoner friends.
The minuses were that everytime I smoked I wouldn't dream (recalling, remembering, and learning dreams are important to me), I would get easily dehydrated, paranoia, and eventually would lose motivation to work on my business projects if I smoked too much.
I was never a hardcore smoker, I rarely even bought weed but I would smoke it whenever it was around.
All in all I think it's an amazing plant with a lot of benefit for a variety of different things but I just couldn't see myself smoking it for the rest of my life.
Also I found that when I smoked it consistently I became out of touch with my true feelings, it would suppress them so I wouldn't have to deal with what was bothering me and inhibited my ability to correctly perceive reality.
"Don't worry everything's gonna be alright" is definitely a marijuana inspired thought, and it's totally true but that doesn't mean that you don't have to confront what's going on within you beyond the smoke because eventually you will.
"However, after 10 years of daily use at one point I just stopped and honestly I don't think I'll ever smoke again."
I agree, a wise friend once told me "too much of something good usually goes bad" and its true about basically anything in the world. That's why the occasional smoke now and then is far more enjoyable in my opinion, plus it works a lot more effectively that way. :)
"The minuses were that everytime I smoked I wouldn't dream"
I had this too, a week or two after taking a break I started dreaming a lot more and had totally forgotten about my control of lucid dreams and now going to sleep is actually exciting. :P

Yes, dreaming is like school for me. Very revealing about my perceptions, belief systems, and behaviors, if I don't have them it's like skipping class for my consciousness. Thanks for your input @acidyo!

Occasional is SO much better.
Hell, occasionally using cannabis is an entirely different experience! I must admit, I'd even recommend it-- the trick is surely to not go over once a week. Everyone needs to relax, and the herb helps.

Everytime I smoke before bed I have the most vivid dreams, I even wrote songs from my dreams thanks to the plant:) Nice share just had me for a minute thinking what the hell was you smoking lmao this trash
One of my favorite quotes:)

Nah, different strokes for different folks. Shut down my ability to dream for sure, I've heard that from many others as well. I love Bill Hicks but it certainly effected my motivation in the long run.

I know a few long-term smokers who don't dream... some say they actively hate the experience now... that they don;t feel rested when they wake from a night of dreaming because they "were doing stuff all night".

I used to enjoy smoking too but can't even smell it anymore. It is a powerful master plant but sometimes we need to say by to each other with masters. So we can meet other masters.

You'll be smoking again if you ever get cancer and do chemo. ;)

hah I love marijuana and I don't smoke it either. I know one day it will be legal everywhere. I think a lot more people should try it, it will definitely open their minds. In my opinion though as for you, I couldn't recall my dreams and I loooove my dreams so much, but I literally fell into such a deep sleep that I couldn't remember anything, also I got anxious a lot as well. haha Thanks for this.
