I recommend that you write a post to introduce yourself, and include the #tag introduceyourself telling a little about who you are etc.
You will then have many people see your post who will welcome you and offer some tips and advice of how to navigate here in Steemland. It's a bit of a steep learning curve so you will for sure appreciate the help.
