Hello lads,
here is little weekend project or maybe more appropriate to say modification.
Maybe some of you have digital calipers and problem with cheap ones is that they dont have circuit that cuts power off completely when its turned off. When you press on/off button it usually turns off just the screen and power is drained through other electronics. As I had problem that no shops were open due the weekend and I had to measure some parts so figured out why wouldn't connect usual AAA battery instead of "coin" battery.
What you will need for this:
- Digital calipers..
- AAA battery
- 2 pieces of wire
- electrical tape
Optional
- soldering iron and flux
- micro switch
Its pretty simple you have to connect + from AAA Battery to + on the calipers and same for - , you can use electrical tape to tape wire to the battery.
As this was just for few measuring you dont even have to solder them just stuck them between metal pieces and that is it.
For longer use i would recommend soldering and adding a little micro switch so you can completely disconnect your battery.
Thats it guys, stay true.
