Obesity is now being referred to as an epidemic in the medical community. In fact, it will soon overtake cigarette smoking as the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Obesity increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or stroke, and even cancer. With all of these health risks and the overall improvement in quality of life that can result, losing weight is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

No matter how much we want to believe it, there isn't a magic solution to losing weight. When the body requires more calories to function through the demands you place on it in a given day, it will shed excess fat.
