Jesus is everything: You welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 1:6

The Book of Acts of the Apostles tells us that the apostle Paul founded the church of Thessalonica after many difficulties due to the persecution of his enemies. Paul had to leave the city at night along with his friend Silas bound for Berea.
But then over time, he received good news, the incipient Christian community had remained faithful, and it was so that the apostle Paul, most likely in Corinth, sent his first epistle to the believers in Thessalonica.
With great admiration Paul put the believers of this beautiful community as an example of what the Christian faith means, our Lord Jesus is everything, and those who accept him with a good heart are heirs to the promise of the eternal life, that is, the contemplative life, the meditation focused on the divine attributes of God.
With these beautiful words, Paul referred to them: "You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia" 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7.
And Paul also in his epistle explained to the believers of the church the intentions for which he preached the gospel to them: "We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts" 1 Thessalonians 2:4. The preaching of the gospel and the doctrine of Jesus as taught by Paul with his life and his writings is a true spiritual mission, a mission to educate, rehabilitate the oppressed, and confront the ignorance of idolatry.
Paul, as a person filled with the Holy Spirit, showed us with his missionary trips that the Kingdom of God has enemies but also friends, but it is up to every believer to make the difference, as demonstrated by the first christians of Thessalonica.
