Welfare checks on loved ones turn deadly steemCreated with Sketch.

Don’t call the police to check up on a loved one, especially if that loved one has a mental condition. This poor women was killed simply because she was scared and confused and the two officers doing the check up shot first instead of using non lethal means or trying to de escalate the situation. They are supposed to have training for that kind of thing and use that training. But they get less than a year of training and some get trained by the Israeli forces who have been murdering, displacing and caging unarmed Palestinian civilians for decades.

Don’t call them for anything. Arm yourself. There have been many other cases where people with mental or physical conditions have been killed or abused by police simply for not complying even though they were unable to. I read about a deff man was mistreated by police because he was unresponsive to orders not to long ago. Another reason to turn to private police.
