Hugging or cuddling someone you love or care about can cause your body to release the oxytocin hormone. Oxytocin is a hormone that helps reduce blood pressure, and lowers the stress hormone, norepinephrine.

It is very effective in relieving stress, improving one's mood, and calming your body/mind. Cuddling someone you care about can also help you sleep.
