Western ghats of India are a stretch of Mountainous region with thick dense tropical rainforest. These mountains are said to be very old, running into a million years. India's ancient text mention these mountains. They are a source of very rich bio diversity and is also known as Amazon of India.
The mountains range along the west coast bordering Arabian sea.
The stretch of villages dotted along these mountains are truly beautiful. The soil here is very fertile owing to many great sources of rivers. Paddy fields dot the villages here.
There is a beautiful stretch of mountain ranges here known as Mullaiyagiri. This literally means abode of Shiva, one of the Hindu trinities.
Mullaiyanagiri is the tallest mountain peak in the southern state of Karnataka, India. The drive up there is one of the most risky thing I have ever done in my life.
Between August to December is the best time to visit with the Moonson slowly receding. There are many waterfalls and beautiful landscapes all around the region.
I will be posting more in the coming blogs.
Thanks,
