Elections have consequences.

What is at stake with this election? The question that has been posed time and time again throughout history, generation after generation. Lets take a look at what the next president will be faced with. Regardless of what side of the aisle you align yourself with the stakes are high.

First, and I think most important, the world is facing a terrorism problem. Innocent people are being killed indiscriminately across the globe. In the last couple months we had attacks in the U.S., Turkey, France, India, Pakistan and Germany. These attacks were just the ones that made the news in the U.S. ISIS backed terror groups have racked up a death toll exceeding 34,000 people worldwide so far in 2016. The next U.S. President will have to face this problem since we know the U.S. is a prized target.

Second, and this will effect every American, the Supreme Court nominations. The next U.S. president will be able to put forth nominations for at least two Supreme Court Justice openings. These next picks will turn the Supreme Court more conservative or more liberal. So, depending on where you stand on issues the court will decide cases that effect your beliefs. Some of those issues will center on immigration, abortion, firearms and free speech. Think heavily about this, the future of the 1st, 2nd and 4th amendments are on the line.

Third, if you are unemployed or a laborer, immigration is affecting you. Hopefully those reading this have seen the recent news about Disney and other corporations letting the American workers go and hiring foreign nationals to fill those spots on H1 visas. Then there is the hot topic of illegal immigration. Once again regardless of where you fall politically you have to at least give way to the fact that an increased job seeking population that is willing to work for less money will reduce the number of jobs on the market. If you are looking for work in this country you will have to compete with the illegal immigrant population that is willing to work hard for half the price. Its a case of simple supply and demand, more labor means lower wages and less jobs for Americans that don't have an in demand skill high tech skill.

It's my opinion that both of the candidates are deeply flawed so the choice is; how flawed you can live with. As for me, I can't vote for Hillary for a variety of issues but the fact that she got a pass by the FBI and the State Department on the emails. Many other Americans are in prison for much less than she did. Our government demonstrated that she truly is above the rest of us and too big to be indicted. Can you vote for continued corruption at the highest levels and then living with the knowledge that "We the People" have lost control of the government? The choice is yours to make but remember elections have consequences. Trust yourself and never trust the government!
