There are over 65 million people in the world today who have been forced to leave their homes because of violence, persecution and war.

We as one community against the intolerance and fear that drove so many people to flee their homes in grief. Doing the right step: The World Food Programme or WFP is the food-assistance division of the United Nations and the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.

WFP is into ethereium blockchain enable refugees to shop from supermarkets without using physical money. To pay they have to go thru Iris scan, it is the digital identity that system recognize to authenticate and transact into World Food Programme Database. Blockchain as a technology ensures that aid is directly served to a rightful person. Iris scan serves as a digital identity in blockchain eradicate the need of birth certificate / passport or any other identity proof. During conflicts it is likely that any paper proof could be destroyed or seized.

WFP has analyzed that such magnitude of direct transactions thru conventional banking channel could cost them millions of dollars as bank fees. From the power of blockchain they are able to save around 98% transaction fees. Which is itself creating exponential impact on aid.

I believe it’s a perfect way of dealing with T accounts on such enormous scale. i believe this system would also enable donors to send donations internationally without limiting themselves into geographic barriers and conventional banking carriers to even most remote locations.

UN WFP director Robert Opp stated:

“We felt we could replace the services offered by banks with blockchain. Blockchain helps promote collaboration by providing enormous amounts of data.”
