Whales?? Wake up please!

Just a simple message here.

Suddenly we have many more powerful paid voting bots that got HUGE delegations and that let posts stick to the trending forever. Just look at the trending now and tell me if those posts deserve to be there??

I read many times whales supporting the idea paid voting bots are bad for this platform and the trending page should be fixed, but they keep delegating to paid bots. WTF?

F*** The Paid Bots

Do you realise if I have some money to spare i could buy votes from all of them and stick to the trending forever whatever is the sh** I am writing about? I mean, this is quite obvious already!

Why Not Delegating to Steem Projects Instead?

You got hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions Steem and your best idea is to give them to paid bots. Congratulations!

There are so many projects trying to get out from the dark and many of them are AMAZING! You should not even waste one cent for these stupid bots and delegate all what u have to STEEM BASED PROJECTS.

At the end this is your investment and for sure investing in paid bots is not gonna be as beneficial as supporting the best steem based projects.

Paid voting bots should not have hundreds of thousands of delegated steem, for sure not millions! Instead we have projects with almost zero delegation and paid bots with millions delegated. Does not make sense, at all.

Are You Lazy?

DM me. I have a list of dozens of projects that could benefit from some delegation and a list of bots from which the delegation should be taken away. You don't have to "waste" your time to look for good projects to delegate to. People here are already doing that for u. You just have to push the delegation button, for one time, on the right things.

I totally agree!

Thank you @elear. Being somewhat of a newbie and collaborating on the development of a steem community, this is a concern as we learn more regarding paid bots. This is one of the reason why we are Steemians and not on FB, IG, YT, etc. I will pass on your valuable comments to my co-founders.

Hi @elear ! I totally agre with you. There are so many great things going on with the steem blockchain. @utopian-io is updating as the speed of light with improvements everywere, and this projects you mention could really benefit all the blockchain if they had about 10% of all this delegation to paying bots.

Regards, @gold84

Maximizing those profits was always the name of the game here on steemit, never ending cycle of greed is constantly repeating. It would be perfect if every whale would look further than their own profits and look for the greater good of the community, the unfortunate reality is that there are more and more greedy whales coming into steem blockchain and we all have to live with that fact.

Nice post friend and i agree with your points vote selling or buying a vote from a bot is not a good idea to work in steemit because at the end user who buy a vote not able to gain profit from it and the peoples who delegating their sp to such voting are also wasting their sp instead of that they can delegate their sp to utopian-io which is a brilliant project and beneficial for all users, thanks for sharing your nice thoughts with us, Stay blessed

Whoa are you telling me that making money incentivizes people?????

I am totally new here, but what You are saying here seems quite terrifying for me, because the very first reason I decided to use this platform is its transparency and fairness and those bots seem to mess up with it a lot. It's disappointing and misleading especially for new users coming in right now, looking at trending feed and asking ourselves - are those really the best posts? REALLY?

I am happy some are already delegating to meaningful projects and to users too. I hope your messages get to change some who haven't already. Thank you.

The Bid Bots are just too popular, because of the easy and instant returns.
We created a community Bot that gives back to its users, and it is free to use @steemdunk Now how much delegation did that Community Bot get from the whales - 0

I agree with you @elear, the paid bots take away from the steemit platform. I honestly, don't really see the benefit that these bots add to the community. Like you, I would also like to see this money be spent on more productive projects in the steemit community. This will only add benefit to the community overall and attract more users for sustainable growth.

I'm pretty new here too and I don't mean to sound ignorant, but how can you tell a bot post from a real post?

wow, bravo well said. I discourage that too. Some people just do some useless write-up and bad grammar. They pay bots to get uovote and it is been down. Where as we have thousands of good post out there without the right visibility or little earning.

i think bot also got to be upgraded, at least it should read the post before curation.

i hear ye

Unfortunately, many people do not care about the long-term health of the platform or even the long-term benefits they could get from that. What they care about is profitable transactions right now and when they get lucrative offers to delegate, they delegate as they don't feel like leaving that income on the table.

Are the projects you have in mind capable of offering the whales a similar return on their delegation?

If you want to do the arithmetic, they probably can't, but there is something many people don't realize. The delegation and voting bot business might be profitable, but it comes at a cost. It is limiting the growth potential of the platform and is hurting its image. And in the crypto world image and trust are value.

If the voting bots weren't hogging up so much of the resources and rewards, the steem blockchain would have more resources to thrive in a sustainable way which could in turn allow the price of steem to climb faster. And no venture can really match the return a skyrocketing steem price could provide.

Whales need to understand that supporting meaningful project can not only be something charitable they do with their steem power, but also a very good investment in the future of the currency. And the people who would benefit the most from that would be the largest stake-holders. Which is them.

Thank you that someone big like you shouted this out. I am fairly new here and I learned that quality posts and hardwork matter. But to see what's really happening, that there's a shortcut to success with the excessive use of bid bots is quite a turn off. I tried a few bid bots which earned me like less than $10 and it didn't feel good coz it wasn't a human who rewarded me. And after that I decided not to use them anymore (of course I still need the small time bots for minnows like originalworks and banjo). Although I do not know if I will be left behind because everyone sees the trending and it encourages the use of more bid bots.

I hope more people like you step up to address this issue. I wish you luck on your projects :)
