For the past one month I have been using Whaleshares platform for cross posting. I did my first post on Whaleshares platform exactly 25 days before which was on 06-04-2019. I never imagined that I would be getting lots of support from the community. After I wrote my welcome post, I received lots of welcome messages in the comments section and many people wanted me to contribute as much as possible. I was really very enthusiastic to contribute on whaleshares platform. I was wondering how I would be able to spend time to write posts exclusively for Whaleshares platform. But later I found that we can do cross posting from Steem to Whaleshares.
I learned about steem2wls through @rehan12 and I found it to be an interesting option for cross posting from steem to wls. It was great that I found it or else I was wondering if I should be manually posting all my steem posts on whaleshares platform. But even though I talk a lot about cross posting, I found from some of the exclusive members of whaleshares community that it will be nice to post separately for whaleshares community alone. Some people believe that cross posting is not going add any value to the platform. I also agree to that fact in a way. But to start with, I guess that will be the right pathway and gradually we can make unique articles in both the platforms.
Stats
I'm not sure if there are any sexy tools available for whaleshares platform to find our stats and compare our stats. For now I'm going to do it only manually. If we had tools that can automatically find and tell us how we are performing in the blockchain, it would be awesome. If I get some time, I will try to create one. But the problem is, I'm not sure if we have the concept of wls SQL here to fetch data. In steem blockchain people find it very comfortable to fetch data from the blockchain just because they have easy querying capabilities. I will do a simple stats for now from what I see in the User interface.
For now the stats is not going to look very great. But that's okay. On a long run, this stats will be very good and interesting for me to stay motivated. I bought few wls with the help of some SBD by purchasing BTS. This was just to experiment how we can buy and sell whaleshares. There are few things that I noticed about this platform which I would like to share with you all. These are just my observations and perspectives about whaleshares.
- I understood that the payout period is 13 days in whaleshares unlike the 7 days concept in Steem. That's something interesting because we have more days to promote our posts and get good votes.
- There is no concept of bid bots here because we don't have a facility to delegate our whalestake to anyone. But if there are any big stake holders here, we can still go for an offline voting system.
- I found lots of issues while using the API of whaleshares. I completely understand that it is still in the beta stages and it will need helping hand from many developers who can devote their time for whaleshares.
I'm looking forward to see great improvements in this platform in the long run. I'm really happy to be an early adopter of this platform.
Thanks for using eSteem!
