Facebook has already announced to change its policies in content management that could create violence. This time, WhatsApp has been the world's largest social media provider.
It is reported on how to limit the ability to send messages to multiple chatting threads together in a blog post from the encrypted messaging app. Through this, the company hopes to speed up the spread of false news and misinformation. Earlier, users could send messages to up to 250 people in WhatsApp, now the number has been reduced to 20. And in India, the number is limited to five. Also, the 'Quick Forward' button in the media sending message has been removed, in the report of Technology Site Engadget.
This change has been termed as a 'test'. "We are scared of violence in India and we have announced several changes to different products, to solve these problems," a spokeswoman for WhatsAppSpeed Technology Site Rikode said.
Technology site TechCrunch said that WhatsApp officials met the Election Commission of India. They are planning to bring a newsworthy model used recently in Mexico in Mexico.
