what to do in case you ignore restore the backup

Hello, we love to have our chatting information remain intact and lots of people who use whatsapp some time delete some chats . And we miss that we can recover these chats using cloud storage i.e. Google drive.
But if you ignore the restoring the backup after either re installation or anything else your Google drive backup will not work.
In that case you can only one option you can restore the backup using your phone's file folder
