fams! Today, I will be walking you through the method I typically use when cooking Rice and Beans. When it comes to cooking, everyone develops their style and as life progresses armed with keen interest and practice, you can become an excellent cook even if you didn't start as one.
Like I said earlier if you are passionate about cooking, with practice you can develop your style. Although Rice and Beans with Stew is my favorite and I enjoy it anytime I make it. What is the joy of food if you don't enjoy it and wish you should never finish eating the delicious food hahaha?
Method of Cooking Rice and Beans with Stew
I prefer rice and beans cooked together and devoured with stew. That is why I brought up these methods;
Step 1
Pick the beans to get rid off of unwanted parts, rinse the beans and transfer them to a clean pot, add enough water and onions and cover it up to cook for about fifty minutes or till you can easily crush it with your finger.
Step 2
It's now the time to add the rice; Rinse the rice thoroughly until the water comes out clear, stir in the rice and salt with the beans, and add water if necessary.
Step 3
Cook the rice and beans for twenty minutes or more, after twenty minutes, check if it's done or needed little water and add if necessary. But mind you, don't let it be too soggy. If it's done, you're don and you can now serve it with your desired sauce or stew.
NB: I strongly advise that, don't pour out the beans water when you boil it because the dark-colored water from the beans adds more flavor to the rice and also gives the rice that beautiful tinted look, plus it's good for you!
And be very careful when adding water to the food, so that it won't be too soggy. When it's, you won't be able to enjoy the food to the fullest π
How to Cook Stew with Egg
Ingredients or seasonings;
- Blended red pepper and bulbs of Tomato
- Groundnut oil
- Seasoning cube
- Salt
- Sliced onions
- Curry seasoning
- Tyme seasoning
- Boiled egg
Place a clean pot on the heat, let it hot for one minute and pour sliced onions inside it, stir it very well and pour the blended pepper into it. Cover it and let it cook for two minutes, open it after two minutes, and put the seasonings Cubes, Tyme, Curry with the Boiled Egg and Salt. Stir it very well and cover it to cook for a few minutes.
Cook it for two seconds and off the heat, you can serve the rice with savory egg stew.π
