Greetings Steemians,
Today I harvested a handful of healthy beans.
I was curious to see the weight, and so I weighed in grams. What we have here is almost a perfect ounce of high grade beanage.
I am eating them raw while typing this. Savoring would be more appropriate to say, because this is a tiny meal for futuremind, and I want to enjoy the flavor. They are better than market bought beans, by far.
The Jalapeno pepper plants are not sprouting. They might need a fertilizer boost. I am hesitant and will wait a bit.
The window plant is a philodendron. This is a miracle plant that was planted by an old woman, right before her death. I took her abandoned pot of dirt because I planned to use it. Afer a few weeks this mystery plant sprouted (bone dry dirt) and my friend @owasco helped me identify what it is.
I feel like a part of that lady lives on through this plant, and even though I never met her, maybe she smiles knowing I'm taking care of her plant.

An ounce of beans, right on! Best ounce you ever ate, probably. And no chemicals, just soil and nature. Good job.
I wonder if the peppers need some nutrients? Maybe some worm castings, or a compost tea?

It was, and that was the first ounce of beans weighed on that scale. It has previously only been used to weigh one thing. I won't give you any clues and I bet you can guess what I use that scale for :P
I was thinking that. I have some fertilizer I am thinking about trying.
I also have 2 of the Jalapeno plants outdoors now for the past week, and they are not growing peppers either, just dropping flowers.
I think this calls for some experimentation.
I'll try a heavier duty fertilizer on the outdoor plants, and maybe some eggshells and compost in the indoor. That way if I kill two, no biggy.
(The squirrels have already begun assaulting the outdoor plants now anyway, maybe that fertilizer on top of the soil will ward them off a bit.)
