Life is good. Yes, when I'm sipping whisky and smoking a cigar, I'm happy.
GLENMORANGIE 12YO SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY
This is a very stock standard whisky that appeals to most palates. There's nothing overly complex about this whisky, gentle orange and oak flavours on the nose, with a mild sweet taste of honeyed oranges. The whisky was a good complement to the evening but it was never going to be the leader for the whole experience.
OPUS X LOST CITY DOUBLE ROBUSTO
An amazing cigar that I reviewed previously with the Bruichladdich 1990/25 (https://partiko.app/yippeekaiyay/bruichladdich-199025-with-opusx-lost-city-double-robusto-jevirnsf?referrer=YIPPEEKAIYAY)
The smoke is thick and free flowing, with almost sweet nutty and leathery flavours. Paired with the whisky, this combination worked quite well. The cigar did not over power the whisky and the whisky was a good foil for the cigar. Combined there was an augmentation of both flavours, not quite creating something new, but certainly not creating anything bad.
I had this outdoors and it was a great evening.
