Came back to the UK to find a white supremacist on the £5 notes...

in white-supremacy •  8 years ago

Winston Churchill committed more genocide than Hitler. Most people aren't aware of this because the genocides were against non-europeans and non-whites. And as we are so painfully aware of today, only white lives matter.

He was voted as Britain's favourite person and ended up on the £5 notes. He openly despised and hated Irish, Africans, Native Americans, Asians... pretty much anyone who wasn't part of his superior white race.

Imagine if Hitler ended up on the euro...

Winston Churchill committed genocide against non-white non-europeans, so it doesnt really count. What a great guy! 😜 A good thing that history is written by the victors, otherwise Hitler would seem like just an ordinary leader in comparison.

If you still love Hitler Churchill that's okay. I understand that many people need nationalistic sentimental feelings to maintain their identity, and they like to believe that Churchill won WW2 without bothering to know the history and driving forces behind the events which unfolded; white washed history is so much more appealing to people's desire for a black and white world. I hope you understand that as an Irish person I cannot respect nor love someone who hated and despised me, not to mention him comitting genocide against countless millions.

I fully agree with you. Churchill was not a decent man and a racist through and through.
Here are excerpts from an article about a Churchill biography:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/not-his-finest-hour-the-dark-side-of-winston-churchill-2118317.html
As Colonial Secretary in the 1920s, he unleashed the notorious Black and Tan thugs on Ireland's Catholic civilians, and when the Kurds rebelled against British rule, he said: "I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes...[It] would spread a lively terror."
When Mahatma Gandhi launched his campaign of peaceful resistance, Churchill raged that he "ought to be lain bound hand and foot at the gates of Delhi, and then trampled on by an enormous elephant with the new Viceroy seated on its back." As the resistance swelled, he announced: "I hate Indians. They are a beastly people with a beastly religion."

WC silent killer from the past @riskdebonair ?

good guy greg ? :D

I did not know he was so cruel and hateful. His hate must have kept him up on his feet for so long. very sad.

whisky did and cigars :D also helped him be a bloated balloon :| , anyway every part of WW1 and WW2 are sad t hear , the people are all rooting for their own cause and half of them are insane by the end of it :| , at least people have "recovered" albeit as husks , not willing to fight anymore , tough times , extremely and with all the politics i can't say that things are ok now .

Hey, @risk-debonair
I know that Churchill liked Jinnah & called Gandhi a "native fakir". He was forced out of power because the electorate perceived that he lost the Empire. Even so, as an Indian, I'm glad that he contributed to delivering us from the "superior Aryans".
Churchill is not pure "white" but, he was not blacker than "black", as you postulate.
He was voted back in by the British because of a new set of enemies: the Soviets.

I understand your points, but he also caused the deaths of countless millions (the empire were excellent at destroying records) of Indians in the Bengal region, prepartition era.

He was despised by most of parliament for his loutish behaviour, and would have never made it to Prime Minister, except that no one else wanted the job. He was the wrong man in the right place.
I never postulated that he is blacker than black. I believe he was just like Hitler, a human who thought he was doing right, but being a white-supremacist, a good guy for his in-group, and a bad guy for the out-group.

Yes, @riskdebonair
He acquiesced to the Bengal famine, as the Independent reports,

When Mahatma Gandhi launched his campaign of peaceful resistance, Churchill raged that he "ought to be lain bound hand and foot at the gates of Delhi, and then trampled on by an enormous elephant with the new Viceroy seated on its back." As the resistance swelled, he announced: "I hate Indians. They are a beastly people with a beastly religion." This hatred killed. To give just one, major, example, in 1943 a famine broke out in Bengal, caused – as the Nobel Prize-winning economist Amartya Sen has proved – by the imperial policies of the British. Up to 3 million people starved to death while British officials begged Churchill to direct food supplies to the region. He bluntly refused. He raged that it was their own fault for "breeding like rabbits". At other times, he said the plague was "merrily" culling the population.

Skeletal, half-dead people were streaming into the cities and dying on the streets, but Churchill – to the astonishment of his staff – had only jeers for them. This rather undermines the claims that Churchill's imperialism was motivated only by an altruistic desire to elevate the putatively lower races.
