White is White Challenge - Sunday Anything Goes - Geode

For my entry today into the whiteiswhite challenge, I'm sharing a photo that I took this afternoon while I was visiting my parent's house. I was there once again this week for our weekly family supper and thought I would share this photo that I took of one of the geodes that they have. I believe they bought this particular geode while travelling a few years back. Geodes sure are such a neat item - not knowing quite what will be inside of them before cracking them open is very exciting!

As you can see, the outside is a bright white colour; it really doesn't look like anything special, but once you get to the inside, it is a whole different story! The pattern on the inside of this one is very cool; it starts on the outer layer with some crystallized grey/beige material, then further in is a smooth layer of beige, and on the very interior is a hollowed out portion lined in a dark brown mineral. Add in the smooth finish to the interior of the geode, and it really makes it look so cool!

I'd love to collect some of my own eventually, though I would prefer some with a little bit more colour to them!
