Hi Steemit friends,
For my entry today into the whiteiswhite challenge, I am sharing a photo that I took yesterday afternoon while I was outside of my house doing some yardwork. As I mentioned in my post yesterday, we had quite a bad wind storm recently that caused many trees in our yard to fall down and we even lost power for about 12 hours or so. In the aftermath of the storm, we have been cutting down the fallen trees in our yard into smaller pieces. We spent most of yesterday out in the rain working on this and throughout the course of the day, I decided to capture some of the interesting items that I saw laying around.
This particular little statue really caught my eye so I thought I would share it with you all! I think this is normally intended to be a bird bath for small birds, as the flower that the little girl is holding can collect at least a small amount of water. Because this statue has been outdoors for so long, it has quite a bit of wear to it, but I would argue that this makes the statue even more appealing. I find that the wet weather that we had outside yesterday combined with the chipping on the stone, the small amounts of moss growing on the stone, and the rust that is present on the metal wings that are on the back of the statue all combine to create a creepy vibe of sorts that I really appreciate. It reminds me of something that you might see in a horror movie or a spooky Halloween movie.
