i walked to the dollar store.its one of my few luxuries even though i make more money now than i ever have in my entire life.
i am in line behind 2 older white people.in the past couple of years the store raised their prices & {gasp} most of the items are not $1. the blonde white woman starts yelling at the cashier because what she picked out was more than $1. she is throwing a hissy fit & being very over the top.she cannot afford $20 worth of groceries/toys & leaves with 2 items.
the older white man is next.he asks how much is his chips & the cashier says $2.49.now its his turn to throw a hissy fit & hold up the line.he cannot afford $10 worth of groceries & leaves with only 2 items.i am laughing the entire time.
now its my turn, the "lowest of the low" in everybodys mind but mine.the cashier is frowning, upset at being yelled at repeatedly. i have plenty of money to waste.i pay without complaining & give her a compliment.she giggles
what is the point of this story?
does it need a point?
looking at me,people think the worst stereotypes.they go out of their way to make sure i cannot live up to my potential.i thrive anyway. the world was set up for white people to win & people like me to fail.this horrible society that hates the poor, the dark, the underprivileged that they will do anything to maintain is hurting them just as much as it tries to hurt me. its the karma that i found interesting.
