Wicca is one of those religions were people get misinterpreted or misunderstood on. People who don't bother to research Wicca end up believing that it is something that it is not. With the revival of Wicca in 1953, more and more people are practicing and studying this wonderful religion. But there are other people who turn a deaf ear on Wicca because they don't want to believe that it is truly a magnificent religion.
So, what does that all mean? I can not tell you how many times someone has told me " OH! You're Wiccan! I am too! We should talk sometime!" to " Be gone Satan! You practice the devil's religion!" So, let me make some things perfectly clear so people understand it.
What Wicca Is
Wicca is a neo-Pagan religion that solely focuses, honors and worships the Earth and Nature.
Wicca celebrates and honors 8 Sabbats ( holiday's).
Wicca honors and worships the Esbats ( Moon phases).
Wicca honors and worships all Gods and Goddesses.
Wicca is a religion that is full of hope, peace, love and promise.
Wicca has a Book Of Shadows that holds all sorts of things in it such as dream journaling, spell work ( opposite of Christian prayers), rituals ( opposite of Christian masses), etc.
What Wicca Is NOT
Wicca is NOT Satanic.
Wicca does NOT honor or worship Satan ( that is a Christian belief found in their bible)
Wicca does NOT have a bible.
Wicca does NOT convert others to the religion (again, that's a Christian belief).
Wicca is NOT a cult.
Wicca does NOT sacrifice animals or humans.
If you are still incapable of knowing what Wicca is, then research it. And one more thing: Do NOT assume you know what it is if you don't. Assuming only makes YOU the ass.
Thanks nice write up. I consider myself a pagan though I do t flaunt it much. I am currently studying CG Jungs book "Dreams" I am fascinated by the language of the archtype
