Matarazzo was born in New London, Connecticut, to Gaetano and Heather Matarazzo (not related to actress Heather Matarazzo), but grew up in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, and is of Italian descent. He attended Pinelands Regional High School in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey. He has an elder sister and a younger brother.
She continued her vocal studies at the Starlight Performing Arts Center in New Jersey. In 2011, she competed in the Starpower National Talent Competition in Uncasville, Connecticut with her single titled "Ben" and placed third.
