The world we have today is the result of millennia of wars. And who win wars if not the most violent, the most abhorrent of men? Therefore is it at all surprising that the world is ran by these types: violent, self-serving, heartless men?
The brutal treatment of manning is far from new or unique. What is new is that decent people are finally getting a glimpse of their true rulers. The stench of rot and corruption behind the curtain of secrecy is leaking. And will continue to leak until it's all scrubbed off.
