Water duck or overo lizard: It is one of the largest and heaviest terrestrial lizards on the continent, with diurnal and terrestrial habits although it can swim very well and is a skilful climber. Usually they are seen walking along paths in open savannahs and pastures. and always close to the water. This species can be found in the following countries: Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Trinidad, Suriname and French Guiana.
