Runaway Rhymes: The Brave Waver (An Original Poem)

in wildlife •  8 years ago  (edited)

This poem is an entry for the Runaway Rhymes: Break the wave @hopehuggs. The poem is written to  extol the values of one of the world oldest and cockiest creatures.

Slow and steady wins the race

Smart and cunning leads the chase

The wrinkled face have seen the most

Of what happens to those who boast

His gait like that of a prince

He walks through anyone province

He gives off airs of confidence

Got a rock-hard shell in his defence

The slowest, the boldest

The cockiest, the oldest

He could live for a millennium

All he needs is a little calcium

And for all that is said and done

With no intent whatsoever for pun.

This is a short tale of the mischievous

And wise old tortoise

Who breaks the wave

And is the rave.
