"Bengal tiger: guardian of the jungle "

in wildlife •  3 months ago

The Bengal tiger, scientifically known as Panthera tigris tigris, is one of the largest and most iconic subspecies of tiger. Found primarily in India, with smaller populations in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, these majestic animals are known for their distinctive orange coat with black stripes.

Bengal tigers are solitary hunters, primarily preying on deer, wild boar, and other large mammals. They are also excellent swimmers, often seen in water. Unfortunately, they face threats from habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict, leading to significant declines in their population. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect these magnificent creatures and their habitats.
