UNIT-1

The military clock on the gray wall of the FBI headquarters in Quantico, Virginia ticked effeminately to the mark 4:00 a.m. on Friday morning in September of 2017. Silence was in the air, save the sound of a large floor buffer moving and humming circular motions at the hands of a dark skinned Hispanic male in his early fifties with a trimmed goatee and collar length shiny black hair. He was moving his head in a dance like motion as he mouthed the words to a famed brown pride song by Marc Anthony titled "Vivir Mi Vida," playing in the earbuds attached to his two-year old Samsung Galaxy model phone. The war room looked like a bomb went off inside. The 'white board' was filled with random notations, a series of disconnected "Xs" and arrows pointing in maze like directions and two color pictures taped on each upper corner of the board. The long simple table with a gray banal formica finish was full of open manila folders, strew papers marked "Confidential" and "Top Secret" on the top, various blue and red pens, yellow highlighters and 4 No.2 pencils with dull tips and worn down erasers. Yesterday was a doozy! The team comprised of various intelligence, legal, medical, psychiatric, psychologic, literary, and paranormal expert consultants ordered by the FBI's Director of Special Forensic Operations to independently review an ongoing 4 year-old investigation into a unique 'profilee,' or 'unsub.' Welcome to the case of the self-proclaimed and severely mentally ill "Legal Padrino."
