Willpower In Reality

Willpower, what does this even mean? What is "willpower"? Personally, I see willpower as the capacity to do what has initially been planned or sticking to your basic/core values and not bending or allow ones self be subjected to any array of circumstances or impromptu development or even temptation.
It can also be the ability to turn down certain near irresistible offers from family, friends or coworkers basically because their "ideological" perception would go against all that you believe in, this is mostly common in the traditionalist sense.
Willpower is a very good personal trait and shows how much ground you have and how rooted you are in your beliefs.
Willpower can be measured through various ways from as basic as your level of resistance on the scale of 1-10 when faced with temptations to as complex as your subconscious reactions to any situation.
Sometimes you would hear people complain about their inability to say No to people or desires and even admit that they are people pleasers, this is because they have averagely formidable willpower and can easily give in there by they end up doing something that goes against what they believe in or think that they owe someone some kind of debt by their actions.

Having weak willpower is very bad to say the least and has left people in compromising situations, serious danger, death or life long regret because people basically don't care about your overall predicament, most especially when it's not in their best interests or say they have anything to gain from helping someone out, mostly selfless and emotional people become victims of this effect of weak willpower.  That is why today we have people with so many problems that could have been easily avoided just by pumping your breaks and dishing out the grand "No", you know something is not healthy for your being or maybe you don't but your spider senses are tingling bad,  then stop! Take a few deep breaths and say no. That young lady we know that got knocked up, could have said no (not in every situation tho) or found a way to protect her self because willpower sometimes may require more than just saying no and needs regular physical, you have to back it up with actions.

Remember that you do not owe anyone anything and you are not on earth to please any one! Yet again remember "You are not a people pleaser" if someone decides to go out of their way to make you happy, learn to be grateful but don't bring your walls crashing down because you think you automatically owe him or her.
You may feel awful afterwards but trust me you've made the right and healthy choice in the long run, take it from someone who has a track record of being the "yes man" and staying in the background feeling empty and unsatisfied with the results of His actions. Don't get me wrong I'm not out for rewards but I can tell you this much a sense of accomplishment is the best pay off.
