MS Paint is added to the Windows Store and will remain available to Windows 10 users. The well known drawing program will no longer be standard in Microsoft's operating system after the first setup.
MS Paint will remain available as a free download in the Windows Store, Microsoft says. The notice states that the drawing program is being extracted from Windows 10. In the Creators Update, Windows will include 10 Paint 3D, this drawing program contains many features that are also in MS Paint, as well as updates for Paint 3D, according to Microsoft. MS Paint does not seem to get any updates anymore.
With the communication, Microsoft hopes to provide clarity about the fate of the old program. On Monday, Microsoft announced that MS Paint is on the deprecated list of Windows 10 features that are no longer being maintained. On this list, Microsoft now also explains that Paint will only be available in the Store. Originally this was not included in the store, as opposed to, for example, 3D Builder.
Paint has been a part of Windows from version 1.0 back in 1985. The simplicity made the program popular throughout its existence, though the love for Paint seemed to grow in recent years because of the amateurish-looking creations it produced.
