@Braveboat's Wine Review: Eastpoint Cellars Chardonnay 2015 (California)🍷🍷

Last month I wrote a review on the the first of a four bottle holiday gift of wines from Eastpoint Winery. That first review can be found here: http://steem.link/Eastpoint-Syrah.

In our second installment, I chose a white to demonstrate that I am not solely a red wine bigot, and that I am willing to sacrifice tannins for taste. It also might help to get me in good with a few of the ladies... 😘

Eastpoint Chardonnay comes in a standard bottle for this varietal featuring their cream and bronze colored label, their signature logo of compass featuring a Fleur-de-lis. The darkened bottle protects the contents from the detritus power of light and playfully conceals the golden liquid within.

The reverse label could use some work. A rather nondescript caption speaks to their commitment to quality and excellence, but doesn't serve to entice a buyer. Eastpoint would do well to hire a professional copywriter to jazz up their description and sell the sizzle as we used to say in the car selling biz.

Upon removing the cork adorned with Eastpoint's logo, the Chardonnay released a gentle scent of green apple and toast on the nose. The golden hue was pretty, if not striking. As it turns out, its lack of any defining character in color served as a prelude to the taste.

I found this to be quite an average Chardonnay. A gentle green apple, toast, and lemon were most prominent on the palate. A nice flavor, but a bit weak, overall. Watery is the other word I'd use. With nothing stand out about this vino, I was neither impressed or disappointed. This is a One Night Stand of wine. Thanks. It was fun. I'm probably not going to see you again. Oh, where are my car keys? And I'm missing a sock...

I'm giving Eastpoint Chardonnay two glasses out of five. 🍷🍷

Cheers!
