Wine Review: Vega Sindoa Viura-Chardonnay 2014 (Spain)

How about a white wine review, ladies?

Although I am primarily a fan of Malbecs and CabSavs, I DO drink white wine on purpose, occasionally. This one, I'll be honest, caught my attention through its snazzy, artsy label! A beautiful, and captivating depiction of I Have No Idea. lol This would be a beautiful bottle to display in your kitchen or wine room.

Grown in the Navarra region of Spain by Bodegas Nekeas, I found this variation of Chardonnay to be easy drinking. Too easy, as a matter of fact. I nearly consumed the entire bottle in one late night sitting.

Replete with a strong apple taste, it also gave up a lot of yellow fruit taste. Peaches, mango, perhaps a bit of pineapple, too. Fruity, a bit sweet, and yet lots of character. It was not complex, but each flavor found its own way to your tastebuds in its turn.

Definitely a value priced wine at $9.99, I could find myself picking up a few bottles to store away for this summer. While it is cold and bleak here in Maine right now, Vega Sindoa brought me back to summer nights with an after meal glass of vino on the patio.

I would probably not consume this with anything other than cheese and crackers. The flavors were delicate and deliberate. I don't think it would stand up to too many other food flavors without being overcome quickly. Perhaps OK with fish, but I just would prefer to let it stand alone.

This is a nice sipping wine before or after dinner. We give this one a Three Glass rating!
