Best Summertime Wine Secret: Lambrusco

in wine •  7 years ago  (edited)

Rosé is very trendy right now, and I can't knock a Provencial rosé on a hot summer night. But do you know about Lambrusco? It's a wine from central Italy that can be red or white (usually in the US we get red), has bubbles like champagne, and is served slightly chilled. Bonus-- it is CHEAP and super delicious.

We went to one of the major Lambrusco houses in Emilia Romagna, Italy, Cleto Chiarli in Modena and tasted the many styles and varieties they have to offer. Now we just can't get enough. It's my go-to summer wine.
