Thirsty Thursday hangover review

Hey all!! I Just got started on SteamIt and had NO idea what to post.... SO, I thought I would go with what is oh so Fresh in my mind and that is what I was drinking last night.

I enjoy drinking decent booze. I'm not a snob, but I do take my drinking serious. Last night unfolded in a fun and unusual way.

I started the evening with finishing up some emails and work conversions from my home office with a glass of 2014 Fidelity red blend from the Alexander Valley. This is a Nick Goldschmidt wine. I try to keep a good supply of this wine on hand as it's a great "anytime" wine. Delicious.

After this we went as a family to a high school soccer game to support our local team. While there I received a call from a friend who wanted to throw a couple games of darts and knock back a couple beers in my garage. In like fashion, I like to keep my beer fridge stocked with good beers.

We started the night of Darts with a Bull Run to 10 and then end it with a triple 20. I was drinking Alpha King by 3 floyds from Northern Indiana. This is a solid IPA that has a heavy mouth feel and smooth from start to finish. My Friend was drinking some Spotted Cow by New Glarus that I had smuggled out of Wisconson. If you have ever been to Wisconsin, the like their "Cow" up there. This is a very approachable and delicious farm house style ale. This is the kind of beer you can put in any beer drinkers hand and they will say "Hey, this is pretty good".

Now from here this pattern repeated for about 3 games with the same beers. Then we decided to change things up a bit and go with a game first to get 5 marks on triple 20s and end with a bull. To commemorate this we broke out bottles of Zombie Dust by 3Floyds from northern Indiana. This is a well respected IPA that is brewed in limited quantities and hard to find. When you are able to find it, the stores typically limit it to two btls per customer. I can honestly say that it's worth the time and effort to hunt this one down. Great beer.

Well from here, it was getting late and we needed to wrap up the night, so we finished our delicious beers and he walked home. I was feeling a bit saucy at this point and I was not ready to end the night. I decided to open a btl of a new wine I just bought . 2015 Method Proprietary Red from CA Northern Coast. This is a wine put together by winemaker Trevor Sheehan and Master Sommelier Ian Cauble. I watched the Documentary "Somm" on netflix and watched Ian Cauble prepare for his Master's exam. So I thought I would try his wine. I've made wine purchases for worse reasons. Good Wine. Spicy and fruity all in the same. One thing is for sure is I did not need it, but it was perfect night with perfect temperature and a perfect breeze.

This morning, I have a bit of a headache, but I could not change a thing. Great Friends, Great Drinks, Great night. I hope to find myself another night as fun and relaxing as that again soon.
