Red hot wine with spices and honey..A suggestion by me, for the cold days of the winter!!

Hello friends. On this post I will show you how to make a delicious recipe with hot wine for the cold days of the winter that we are going through. I usually use sweet wines to make it but you can also use red dry if you don΄t like sweet wines. The ideal for me is mavrodafni patron.

I make it with a syphon, if you are not familiar with it the process is very simple.When the heat source gets warmed, the vapor pressure increases in the lower chamber of the syphon, forcing the wine downwards and through the central pipe into the upper chamber where it is mixed with the spices. When the heat is removed, the water flows back down.

The spices I use are cinammon, black pepper, star anice, cloves and a lot of cardamon, I also put some honey and 1-2 slices of orange. The combination of honey, wine, orange and cardamon is so delicious and so aromatic and you will understand that if you try it from the first sip because the wine is hot and the vapors goes directly to your nose. :)

I am sure most of you wont have a siphon, don't worry you can make it at your home with a simple coffee pot but is very important to heat it very slowly in very law temperature. Before you put the spices on the pot you have to smash them in a mortar to release their aromas easier.
