Jesus to enter into the Kingdom of God request us for the circumcision of the heart, and not a circumcision according to the flesh, this is what Paul explains to us in the epistle to the Philippians: "For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— though I myself have reasons for such confidence." Philippians 3:3-4.
Because there are two covenants, and a righteousness according to Christ, and another according to the law: "But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith" Philippians 3:7-9.
The righteousness that comes from the law is the righteousness of the Pharisees and the doctors of the law: "Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man", Ecclesiastes 12:13.
But the righteousness of Jesus is the righteousness of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) and that of the father of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32).
The righteousness of Jesus is a righteousness without masks that seeks the uplifting, the progressive, the positive. The good samaritan, in the bible, when he acts not only seeks his own good but also takes into account the good of the others. If we only love those who love us, what merit do we have?, this is what the wisdom of Jesus teaches us.
