Jeremiah, the true and false wisdom: Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, what kind of wisdom do they have? Jeremiah 8:9

Jeremiah was a prophet who preached in the kingdom of Judah before its destruction by the Babylonian Empire in 587 BC. Like all the prophets, Jeremiah preached for the sincere conversion of the people and the leaders of the kingdom of Judah to the Lord and his law, and the abandonment of the merely formal worship and the practice of idolatry, which was an abomination to the Lord. Destruction was near and no one wanted to hear the truth.
But the nation of Judah, as the prophet himself taught, was like a wife who had abandoned her husband, the Lord.
With these words he expressed this sad truth:
"If a man divorces his wife
and she leaves him and marries another man,
should he return to her again?
Would not the land be completely defiled?
But you have lived as a prostitute with many lovers—
would you now return to me?" Jeremiah 3:1.
Jeremias also criticized the false wisdom, the cunning that comes from falsehood, on which many were based to live in a false tranquility and security:
"How can you say, ´We are wise,
for we have the law of the LORD,´
when actually the lying pen of the scribes
has handled it falsely?
The wise will be put to shame;
they will be dismayed and trapped.
Since they have rejected the word of the LORD,
what kind of wisdom do they have?" Jeremiah 8:8-9.
Because as the prophet explained, there is a human wisdom that has its origin in reason and experience; but there is also an inspired wisdom that comes from the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), and that is the true wisdom that pleases the Lord, that is the wisdom united with the compliance of the law and the fidelity, and which ensures the divine blessings.
In this way the prophet taught about true wisdom:
"´Let not the wise boast of their wisdom
or the strong boast of their strength
or the rich boast of their riches,
but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know me,
that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,´
declares the LORD" Jeremiah 9:23-24.
Jeremiah, the true and false wisdom. Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, what kind of wisdom do they have.
