Impermanence is in simple words nothing but a reality that Nothing Lasts Forever. Somewhere deep within our subconscious mind we know this fact, it’s just not so easy to accept it. The sooner we realize it the sooner we can accept it. Acceptance is just the start of the journey.
In life, you will face a lot of ups and downs but they never stay for long. It always passes, anything that you are going through right now will pass. The ancient wisdom of THIS TOO SHALL PASS holds true. All your fears, anxiety, happiness, anger, frustration are temporary emotions. Even life is temporary.
Just look around yourself, for 5 minutes just look. Will this moment be the same tomorrow. The 5 minutes that you spent on observing your surroundings, can you get them back? If you detach yourself from any scenario you will realize that nothing lasts forever. And if you can do it in the most stressful situations of your life then you can remain unfazed by anything that happens around you.
The acceptance of impermanence can help you be detached from things around you. This is a skill that you should develop. You can start by doing simple exercises of becoming more self-aware. What instills reactions from you. Start observing yourself. What makes you angry, sad, anxious, happy, frustrated, etc.
Once you start noticing your emotions then you can detach yourself from the situation and start looking at it from a third-person view. By doing this you have an unbiased view on the whole scene. it’s like watching a movie. you make decisions without any emotional quotient. If you can try this in every situation of your life be it personal, professional, or financial, you will become a better decision-maker. I guarantee it.
I agree that we got a little off-topic here with impermanence to decision making but the fact that nothing remains the same attitude gives you a unique perspective to look at things and make decisions that will make your life better.
