Wise teaching: The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29

God is the wisdom itself, the Bible teaches us, and in God there are no imperfections, that is why God helps the righteous and turns his back on sinners. If we want to receive the blessings of the Lord, we cannot lead a life full of sins, about this the prophet Isaiah taught to us with a wise teaching: "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear" Isaiah 59:2.
Instead righteousness (golden rule), mercy (compassion, gentleness, kindness), and the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion) are perfect virtues that please God and bring us closer to him. The Lord in his wisdom loves humanity and does not want men to live by hurting one another: "You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God" Leviticus 25:17; life is one of the most beautiful gifts, and it is man's duty to be co-creator with God.
But in the face of the perfection of their creator, men have the freedom to choose, and it is from this freedom that the problem of evil arises: "God in the beginning created human beings and made them subject to their own free choice" Ben Sira 15:14. That is why God, if we choose the path of error, the wrong path, wants us to learn. For this reason the book of Proverbs wisely adds: "The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous" Proverbs 15:29.
There are many stories in the Bible where God turns his back on the wicked, and listens and protects his devotees. When the army of the tyrant Sennacherib, ruler of the Assyrian empire, began the siege of Jerusalem, King Hezekiah was heard by God, and the Lord prophesied through Isaiah the defeat of the Assyrian invaders, and so Hezekiah put his trust in the Lord, and he achieved the liberation of his capital and his Kingdom.
According to Tobias's book, after hearing the prayers of Tobit and Sara, God sent the angel Raphael to help these two people.
As these stories show us, God is attentive to those who act according to his will.
