Witches, male or female ?

in witch •  7 years ago

I would say, that a witch is in the old times an old woman, who knows because of her expirience, a lot about female spirituality. Today a witch is to me a person, who has a desire for the female spirituality coming back to our society, because it was and still is repressed. - And you can be both, of course, except like me, you are male.

A part of witchcraft was for instance the knowledge about being a midwife and helping out young mothers with less expirience. A part of their magic was basically the knowlegde of birthcontroll and helping out while pregnancy. - To learn this knowlegde you can choose to either study medicin or you gather expirience in being a mother, so you give this knowlegde to the next generation.
So... the only reasonable way to call yourself a witcher (or a male witch, but I like my word more) is to state, that female spirituality is actually needed in our society. This role is missing more and more, because only male work (and spirituality) will be rewarded in this society... And still we need the female aspect in our life, because otherwise something is missing.

btw. my opinion is influenced by sociology, but on the other hand... magic is to me as real as science, because to me, they are two sides of on coin.

Have a nice day.

Even if for me, it's not two sides of a coin, as they to not oppose each other.
MAgick is knowledge, and science is knoweldge ... They both can coexist :)
