A small but personal favorite of mine. I have like a hundred variations on protection jars, though, so I do not know how many variations I will be posting here. Specifically this spell jar is meant to help with threats potentially faced while at school or on a job, if that is something that one is worried about for various reasons.
This jar contains the following from the bottom up;
- Salt - widely considered an ingredient for purification and protection
- Ground egg shells - also considered an ingredient for protection because the shells of an egg protect the baby until it's ready to hatch
- Lavender - adds an element of calm so that the person using it and the people around them feel less inclined to panic or fight
- Black Peppercorns - also for protection, as peppers of any kind are considered to keep bad energy away due to the spice in them
- Rosemary - along the same lines as the lavender, adds some clam to the jar's energy
- Cinnamon - a last element of protection, essentially sandwiching the calming elements between layers meant to add general protection
I capped this one in red wax because I personally consider red a protective color. Many people think love and rage/anger when they think of the red color, but at the same time I think that those same emotions when not overblown can lead to some great protection.
This isn't a fancy jar. My eggshells were so ground they leaked in to the salt a little bit, and of course in the process of turning it to get it wax dipped caused a few elements to blend together but overall it's held up quite nicely and I'm very proud of how it came out :)

I'd never seen these protection jars. Nice! I'm featuring this post in a scavenger hunt contest; the topic for this was "suit of armor" and I thought this looked like a little personal suit of armor!

The scavenger hunt thing sounds interesting, and thank you for featuring this post that means a lot!
I'm a witch by practice and I do a lot of these kinds of spell jars for all sorts of things, and I'll be posting examples on Fridays for the most part if you're interested :)
