I don't understand why you would be so flippant about what is happening. It doesn't matter if every one of the people on your list was a criminal (they aren't of course), by effectively removing their access to the SP and Steem they owned and in many cases purchased with their own money, you are saying goodbye to any hope of serious investment in Steem in the future? Who the hell apart from Justin's rich mates would want to invest in a blockchain that has witnesses that will destroy their assets at any point and for any reason they choose. The only good thing about the hard fork for me since I'm too small of a fish to be on the list, is the reduction of the power down time. I am already powering down and now I won't have to wait so long to get my Steem off this joke or a chain that I joined right at the beginning when it was run properly (well, I wouldn't go that far but the thought of stealing users Steem or SP certainly wasn't something that anyone would have even considered back then).
Good luck but I really don't see how the Steem blockchain can come back from this.
Long live Hive.
I think its just best for people on both sides who disagree with each other to quickly powerdown and leave for the platform they each support. Theres no turning back now. I truly wish you guys a good luck. The market will decide years from now who was right or wrong. It could be hive or it could be steem. To each his own.

Theoretically, if I pissed off or threatened the right people I could be added to the list and there isn't a damn thing I could do about it. How can that ever be right?

I hear you, but i think a lot of people feel the same anout the hive situation too. Two wrongs definitely dont make it right. I'm just explaining the current sentiment.

Those upset about not getting a HIVE airdrop are in no way similar to the people righteously indignant at this blatant theft of STEEM tokens.
Most of those denied an airdrop were complicit in Justin Sun's hostile takeover. They didn't want HIVE, and in turn, HIVE doesn't want them. Those remaining denied an airdrop by mistake have an avenue to request remedy.
Sun is instead seizing assets from accounts, destroying the core concept of blockchain security. He is doing so because he was rightly criticized and opposed due to concerns that he might do exactly what he did. The soft fork freeze may have been ill-advised, but in hindsight, Sun never intended to honor the terms of the Steemit stake. His Terms of Servoce are unilateral dictates for censorship and theft, not an agreement between user and site administrator.

You do you man. I've had this conversation multiple times with different users and the fundamental gap in the differing philisophies are just too great for both sides to come to an underatanding.
You guys probably think we are crazy, but funnily enough thats what people on this side say about hive people. Anyways, thanks for at least not resorting to ad hominem and not posting dick pics. Thats refreshing and i mean that in a sincere manner.

I am still the Steem Pope. Standards must be upheld, and my departure is reluctant. I was here for the community, and the community was attacked. I am just waiting for my power-down to complete. I will retain some stake here in hopes that matters improve, but for now, I think HIVE remains the best option, at least in the near term.

I agree with your point but the people on the list have not been given the option to do this. That is the only problem I have. Let people decide but in the case of the people on the list, their option will be taken away and any Steem or SP that they have not been able to power down will be gone and unable to be taken out. Is that right? If it is then I really don't see how it could be justified in any way. At the very least, the users on the list should have been able to powerdown and remove all thier assets before their accounts were deleted (or whatever is happening too them). This whole thing should have been handled better from the beginning.
I wish you luck however.
Jim
