With my first few weeks of being Witness over, I am pleased to report everything is running smoothly. No problems with the server at all, after completing a block on Wednesday I took the opportunity to complete some server maintenance which included security updates and adding additional security measures. That completed smoothly and I quickly had everything back up and running including the all important price feed. I completed another block in the early hours of this morning, roughly every 68 hours for a block at my current rank.

I would like to thank everyone that has voted for me so far, the response has been overwhelming and it really does mean so much to me that so many of you would take the time to vote for me as Witness. Part of my original plan was to support everyone who supported me with Witness votes, moving forward I intend to do this as part of my usual daily post reading and commenting. I would like to help more people understand the importance of Witness voting - and especially of using the available votes you have. While looking for general information I found this Guide to be a good Witness which is well worth reading through to learn a little more about Witnesses. It also links to this post What do you expect from your Witnesses? the comments on this post help us to understand what the wider community expect from a Witness.

What I have been doing to contribute as a Witness

My main focus remains to stay active on Steemit, commenting and sharing posts to help encourage and retain the diverse range of growing accounts we have. I'm manually curating at present, which I find rewarding and it also allows me to adjust my vote proportional to the content. Comments are an essential part of the engagement on here, I invest a great deal of time making them - although I wish sometimes I didn't spend so long procrastinating over comments - on Witness This post by @katrina-ariel I spent 40 minutes composing the comment and it was not even that long. I am also investing time to learn more about the blockchain, and what we can expect to see from it in the future.
