I have already cut back on drinking, but I have pirate blood in me, so I have to keep rum in my house. One of the good things about donating plasma is that you get a small bag of saline at the end pumped in your veins so you get nice and hydrated for a few shots of rum later that night.

Well said and great that You and people like You are doing so much for the community, which in my opinion is fantastic and great, but have some problems with people who use it only in making their own businesses and to cheat the working systems...
More people should rise thair vote against such behaviour and try to ban and remove such "cancer" members of the community. Hope the Steemit and other Steem based platforms will survive the crypto-crysis and grow even better and stronger. While it does suck that there are some people that are here to cheat the system, we do have systems in place like @steemcleaners to try to combat that. I have recently started helping out with them and that whole team is working nonstop to try and cut back on the issues that you are speaking about. Their work usually goes unappreciated by the masses.

I remember the days of donating plasma and having to watch everything i ate and how much water I was drinking so I wouldn't get turned away for lipids etc or how pissed you get if a new employee blows your vein when it's like a quarter inch across and then you get put on probation cause you only have one arm =p

When I first got back from the Gulf I could not donate plasma because of some disease the Red Cross thought me might have (https://www.nytimes.com/1993/01/02/us/ban-lifted-on-blood-donations-from-gulf-veterans.html). The Red Cross then lifted the ban two years later.

I did promise him that he (Jerry) would always be my witness, but after reading @meno's post as well as @luzcypher's post as well as a number of other people's comments I can no longer, in good conscience, support Jerry Banfield as a witness.
Additionally, his comedy routine disgusted me.
So @derangedvisions you may wish to check out the two articles above for some insight into Jerry's character since you are now a witness. I realize that the witness community can sometimes make for some strange alliances and it is important to stay apprised of not only technical performance but, witness interaction with the community.
