Witness Vote Contest

in witnesses •  5 years ago  (edited)

Explanation

First, this is not a contest offering some prize, to you the reader, for voting or not voting a certain way with your witness vote(s). No, this is a contest for Witnesses competing for one of my witness votes which has become available recently.

A total of 18 witnesses lost my support with their decision to install HF22.2. Those 18 votes have been used to pad the most likely of the pre-HF22.2 Witnesses able to retain a top 20 position. Those votes are fickle and eventual support will not likely remain with them once the TRON issue becomes resolved in some way.

Contest Rules

  • At payout time of this post, contestants must be active witnesses as displayed at :
    https://steemian.info/witnesses

  • Contestants should post a link in the comments of this post to a post from their witness account entitled:

My take on 'The Steemit Inc. and the Pre-HF22.2 Consensus Witnesses' stand off'.

  • The comment with the link which receives the greatest number of votes, from accounts with a reputation score of 30 or more, shall be the witness to receive one of my votes for the next year at least.

Conclusion

My vote will not likely change your ranking on its own. It would help if others commented promising to abide by the same rules of the contest and vow to support the winner. Hopefully whether one gets my vote or not they will have had the opportunity to express to a subset of the community how they feel about the current stand off and how they see things moving forward.

✌️😎

Although this contest is open to all active witnesses, please allow me to tag at least the top consensus witnesses at the time of this writing:

I wonder if the top witnesses will care... maybe one day swapping them completely will be necessary....

There is a struggle in most blockchain communities between politics and development. Hopefully we will see a more Dev Friendly Leadership once this present drama is in the past.

P.S. The @andrarchy segment about the OpenSeed and OpenLink Projects on the recent Clown Hall makes me feel such an energy is forming.

Crisis/drama as a chance....

This is a very good idea! May the best witnesses win!

Glad you support it, @sgt-dan! You willing to put up a vote for the winner? We only need 17 in the top 20 if you are focused on that race. 🤓

Currently, my votes for witnesses are proxied. I may go back to taking charge of my votes here in a bit. I must do more research and do what I believe is best for our community.

Yeah, and aligning and getting to know better those you wish to be with once a path seems clear. 👍

From what I can see in your comments about v0.22.2 you have no idea what happened even though there was plenty of material provided (for example see: @pfunk's The Case for The Temporary Soft Fork)
Even calling it "HF" is wrong.
I believe that a lot of Justin's sockpuppets will fight to death to get that spot on your list ;-)

The best of the treatises on the subject from the HF22.2 supporters had to be Luke's rational how removing options to specific targetted accounts did not break with any Libertarian ideals. He never fails to give me a chuckle even when we disagree.

The most brilliant aspect of (SOFT FORK) HF22.2's narrative construction is to push "temporary". Kind of like being a little pregnant. 😎

LOL, you should at least try to pretend that you understood ;-)

It has been like a broken record of me asking what v. 22.2 achieved. So far people just seem to point me elsewhere.

It proved that we are dealing with technologically illiterate lying psycho.

Good point. 🤓
